Kyle Walker appears set to join AC Milan as the curtain closes on his City career | OneFootball

It now appears that the curtain is set to fall on the Manchester City career of Kyle Walker. City’s captain looks set to complete his move to AC Milan in the coming days. Although it will be sad to see such a club stalwart depart it does appear that Manchester City are well stocked to cover the departure of the England international.

Simon Jones has reported for the Daily Mail that Kyle Walker is expected in Italy on Tuesday to finalise his move to AC Milan. Furthermore, Jones reports that Walker could potentially sign for Milan on a free transfer. It is expected that Walker will sign a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Serie A giants should the move be completed.

After all he has done for Manchester City, it will be sad to see Kyle Walker leave the club. Although this season has been a battle for the right-back he has made a tremendous contribution to Pep Guardiola’s side. During his time at the club, he firmly established himself as one of the greatest right-backs in Premier League history. But this season he hasn’t reached the same standards as he appears to have dropped off as a player. But despite Walker’s drop off and imminent departure City do appear to have cover in the right-back position.

Rico Lewis has become City’s first-choice right-back this season. Matheus Nunes has also shown in recent games that he can slot in at the position. With Manchester City confirming the signing of Abdukodir Khusanov yesterday there is the potential for Manuel Akanji to also play in the position. So while it will be sad to see Walker leave City do have cover in his position.

It appears to be a matter of time before Kyle Walker’s move to AC Milan is confirmed. The curtain is about to fall on his illustrious City career. He has been an immense contributor to Manchester City’s recent dominance and we now await official confirmation of his departure from the club.
