Leeds United are yet to add a new player to the squad, despite only eight days left to go in the January transfer window.

However, the Whites could step up their efforts to bring in some new recruits before the February 3 deadline.

Manager Daniel Farke admitted earlier this month that he expected a quiet January window at Elland Road, but then he also outlined three positions he wants to strengthen in his recent press-conference.

According to the Sunday Mirror (January 26, Page 71), Leeds, Everton and Sheffield United have all been offered the chance to sign Botafogo ace Danilo Barbosa.

The 28-year-old’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the year and the Brazilian side don’t want to lose him for free.

It is said that a bargain £2 million would be enough to secure a deal for the defensive midfielder, with the Blades, Everton and Leeds all interested in acquiring his services.

Barbosa has proved his skills for several top clubs, including Valencia, Braga, Nice and Standard Liege.

He has also been a key player for Botafogo, but he now wants to showcase his skills in England.

Leeds are favourites to secure Premier League promotion

Despite the lack of signings, the West Yorkshire outfit are currently doing exceptionally well in the Championship.

Under Farke, they have made an excellent start to the 2024-25 campaign and are now sitting at the summit of the league standings. They are hot favourites to secure Premier League promotion this season.

Wednesday’s 2-0 success over Norwich City was their 17th victory of the season, which saw them reclaiming their top spot from Sheffield United.

The Whites will now take on Burnley at Turf Moor, and fans can watch this exciting encounter via football live streams.

Farke’s men will be looking for revenge after the Clarets outclassed them 1-0 at Elland Road in September. But that will be easier said than done as their opponents are also enjoying an impressive run of form recently.
