Leeds United ‘would like’ to strike a deal to add to Daniel Farke’s attacking options by signing a top flight hitman before the window closes on Monday night.
The Whites are starting to make moves as the transfer window approaches its climax, though talk that they are set to sign Newcastle United left-back Matt Targett has been dismissed.
Farke appears to want to bring in another attacker as he looks for the firepower to blast his way out of the Championship.
Leeds have had a loan offer for Southampton striker Cameron Archer knocked back, but according to The Athletic, the Whites remain keen.
They ‘would like a loan deal’ with Saints striking before the transfer window closes and appear not to be going away.
Archer is the man that Leeds look to have identified as their primary target, but it is unclear if Southampton will change their stance on him.
Saints are not likely to want to weaken their options as they remain locked in a battle to survive in the Premier League.
Leeds could try to improve the terms of the loan offer in a bid to tempt Saints to do business for the striker.
