On Tuesday morning, it was claimed that the Leicester City board have added yet another potential team manager to their already growing list of candidates. England Under-21s head coach Lee Carsley is supposedly joined by Danny Röhl of Sheffield Wednesday in the sights of LCFC. Meanwhile former Burnley boss Sean Dyche is also a name frequently mentioned alongside Ex-Southampton gaffer Russell Martin. Now a person currently managing in the Championship, described as "remarkable", is a target too. We detail the report and give our view as ever.
Leicester have one main problem before appointing a new head coach at King Power Stadium: sacking Ruud van Nistelrooy. Once the Dutchman has gone, City are obviously free to install a fresh management team.
You can probably tell by my tone that I don't think van Nistelrooy really has a chance of retaining the position. He was a true Premier League gamble which backfired spectacularly for the Foxes.
Therefore allowing the ex-Manchester United star to oversee the rebuild in a tricky tier two feels completely out of the question. In fact, that proposition is arguably even more questionable than RvN managing in the EPL: he's not used to the struggle.
So when van Nistelrooy does eventually depart Filbert Way, City have a vital choice to make. And on this occasion, the LCFC ownership and its minions must actually make the correct decision!
But who's in the frame? Along with the aforementioned Röhl, Dyche, Carsley and Martin, another name is in the picture to take over the Leicester side.
