Game of the week: Lille OSC v Olympique de Marseille, Sunay 19:45 (UK)

This could be a decider in the race for Champions League football. Currently, just two points separate these two sides. Lille have been less adventurous, and remain without Edon Zhegrova, but have been getting the job done, beating Auxerre and Angers, as you would expect. However, the win over Angers last weekend came at a cost, with Bafodé Diakité getting sent off. He will miss the match against Marseille, who are full of confidence after their 4-1 win over Brest.

Amine Gouiri was on top form in that encounter, netting a hat-trick and without Diakité, he, as well as the likes of Mason Greenwood, Adrien Rabiot, Jonathan Rowe, etc. will feel as though this LOSC side are there for the taking. A win would put them in an extremely strong position for Champions League qualification with two games remaining. Whilst the decision to uproot the playing squad and move everyone to Rome, perhaps until the end of the season, has garnered criticism in some quarters, it reaped a result last weekend. Roberto De Zerbi insists that it isn’t a punishment and it is the kind of measure designed to get a short-term kick and that is exactly what is happening. Despite the nominal gap in quality between these sides, Marseille are the favourites for this one.
