Ryan Gravenberch has had a brilliant start to the season under Arne Slot.
The Dutch midfielder has excelled since being tasked with the deep-lying midfield role that is crucial to Slot’s tactical setup.
His performances have been a big boost for Liverpool after a disappointing first season at the Reds, where injuries and inconsistency meant Gravenberch spent much of his time on the bench.
Slot rewarded Gravenberch’s great form with a night off during the week.
As many of his teammates travelled to the Amex Stadium for the Reds’ Carabao Cup round of 16 clash, Gravenberch relaxed by heading to a restaurant with his girlfriend, although his mind was elsewhere during the evening.

Liverpool have been given a major new update on the fitness of Harvey Elliott.
The 21-year-old has played just seven minutes of football this season, coming on as a late substitute against Brentford before suffering an injury while on international duty with England's U21 side back in September.
It was expected Elliott would be back fit by October, however, the youngster still hasn't featured for the club and there has been no sign of him in first team training either.
However, the Reds have been given a promising injury update about his fitness ahead of the club's clash against Brighton on Saturday.

Liverpool fans have got used to the sight of famous offspring in the club’s youth ranks.
Stars of yesteryear like Djibril Cisse, a Champions League winner for the Reds, and Premier League players from other teams have got sons making their way through the club’s youth and underage sectors.
Maynor Figueroa’s son Keyrol for example is a United States youth international and plays up front for Liverpool’s under-18s. Jayden Danns’ famous dad Neil was a Premier League campaigner in his day, as was Lewis Koumas’ father Jason. Bobby Clark, meanwhile, who left the club for Red Bull Salzburg over the summer is the son of former Newcastle star Lee Clark.
Cisse’s highly-rated young son Prince is a Reds’ under-18 prospect and recently signed a new deal with the club.

Arne Slot was hired by Liverpool as the club’s new head coach following the departure of Jurgen Klopp last May.
It won’t be an easy task, taking the reins following the tenure of a manager who won everything and helped restore Liverpool to the pantheon of European football.
The 46-year-old Dutchman has however made an incredible start, winning 12 of his opening 14 matches including victories against Manchester United and Chelsea.
It’s been a record-breaking opening to Slot’s Anfield reign and Reds will be hoping that it continues.

Liverpool are keen to sign Omar Marmoush potentially as early as the January transfer window.
The Reds have already begun transfer talks over a potential deal for the Egyptian and the move seems to be gathering pace.
Marmoush is in great form and he is regarded as one of the most exciting players in the Bundesliga at the moment with nine goals so far.
That makes him the competition's joint top-scorer alongside Harry Kane.
But it's not just his goal-scoring that stands out. Marmoush's skills are multi-faceted and Anfield Watch has spoken with footballtransfers.com Bundesliga expert Ronan Murphy to get an exclusive insight.

After Liverpool defeated Brighton in the Carabao Cup round of 16 on Wednesday night, head coach Arne Slot delivered a strong hint as to his future intentions for the left-wing berth.
Luis Diaz started the season in tremendous form. He scored five Premier League goals in his first five games of the season, grabbing another assist. His form was so good that there were plenty of calls for a new contract for the Colombian.
With his current terms expiring in 2027, it could be argued that Diaz is next in line for a renewal after Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts all expire next summer.
It is well known that the 27-year-old is down the pecking order when it comes to his wage packet, estimated at £55,000 per week.
Unusually for a Liverpool player, Diaz is still operating on the same contract he signed upon his arrival in January 2022 from Porto.
