Liverpool rival Chelsea by opening talks with Hugo Ekitike | OneFootball

According to a report from Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are set to rival Chelsea by entering the race to sign Hugo Ekitike (22) from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Frenchman only joined Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain during the January 2024 transfer window, first on loan before the Bundesliga side triggered their option to make the deal permanent in April of the same year.

Since arriving in the German league, Ekitike’s status has exploded, and he has quickly become one of the most sought-after strikers in world football. This season, he has recorded 15  goals and 8 assists in the league as he helped his side to a third-place finish.

Frankfurt set to gain healthy profit on Hugo Ekitike

Plettenberg reports that talks have taken place with Liverpool, but Frankfurt have not yet received an offer from any team for the striker. They are demanding at least €100 million to part ways with him, a healthy profit on the €35 million they spent to sign him.
