La Liga giants Barcelona are likely to have Andreas Christensen back available for selection beginning next month.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

Christensen, for his part, has managed to take to the pitch on just a solitary occasion this season, against Valencia back in August.

Since, the former Chelsea man has been undergoing treatment for a long-term Achilles issue, which recently gave rise to tendinopathy.

Recent murmurs had seen it suggested that Barcelona’s supporters were unlikely to see Christensen back on the pitch this side of the new year.

But, if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, then as much, in fact, could well be on the cards.

As per a report from Sport, the hope is that the 28-year-old will be given the green light to return to group activities in Catalunya’s capital in around two weeks’ time.

From here, a gradual reintegration would take place, ahead of Christensen marking his competitive comeback at some point in December.
