Speaking at a press conference attended by Get French Football News this afternoon, Olympique de Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi revealed that centre-back pair Luiz Felipe (28) and Leonardo Balerdi (26) are uncertain to face Stade Brestois on Sunday evening. De Zerbi revealed that Felipe, who has seemed to only suffer with injuries since he joined the club in January, has a swollen eye which is stopping him from playing on Sunday. “Luiz Felipe returned to training two weeks ago. He had inflammation in his eye this week. I don’t know if he’ll be here tomorrow.”Leonardo Balerdi travelled with the Marseille squad to their training camp in Rome this week and was involved in OM’s final training session attended by Get French Football News. Yet De Zerbi was cautious when speaking about whether or not the Argentine will feature against Brest tomorrow.“Balerdi hasn’t done all the work with us during the week, we’ll see during the last training session. I haven’t decided yet, we’ll see what he says too. He’s ready to be there for the last few matches, we’ll see if it’s for tomorrow or in Lille.”Balerdi came off during OM’s 3-1 loss to Reims with a sprain to a ligament in his left knee. It was an absence which created a headache at the back for Roberto De Zerbi, with Luiz Felipe’s injury meaning that only Derek Cornelius had been available as a formal centre-back, but with the likes of Geoffrey Kondogbia and Ulisses Garcia dropping in to various levels of success.GFFN | George Boxall – Reporting from Marseille.
