According to a report from L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais received an offer from Neom SC for Saïd Benrahma (29). However, this was rejected by the French club almost a week ago and the outlet writes that Benrahma was not interested in the proposal.
The former Brentford and West Ham winger has been courted by several Saudi Arabian sides but Neom, a team from the country’s second tier, became the first to make a move. Neom offered a loan deal with an almost obligatory option to buy for €7 million.
Despite joining Lyon last winter, Benrahma has found himself surplus to requirements and is touted to leave the club this winter. There were several reports in the months leading up to this transfer window that he was one of the players that Lyon were most keen to sell.
Lyon remain a selling team as they look to address their well-reported financial problems before the end of the season.
