Manchester City's quest to end their miserable run of form continues after a 1-1 draw with Everton on Boxing Day leaves them with just one win in their last 13 games across all competitions.
City got off to an excellent start and took a deserved lead through Bernardo Silva 14 minutes in, with the Portugal international collecting a smart pass from Jeremy Doku and dinking the ball into the back of the net courtesy of a Jarrad Branthwaite deflection.
Silva should have had a second and City's profligacy was punished in the first half as Iliman Ndiaye sent an instinctive volley - Everton's first touch in the City box - fizzing into the top corner to tie things up at the interval.
Jordan Pickford referred to his trusty water bottle for the instructions to save an Erling Haaland penalty shortly after the restart. The striker headed home a rebound that eventually came his way, only to see the offside flag raised immediately and extend City's frustrations.
