Senior figures at Manchester United have reportedly lost faith in striker Rasmus Hojlund.
The Dane joined the Red Devils in August 2023 for a mammoth £72 million but he has failed to deliver on his early potential.
Hojlund has found the back of the net ten times this season in all competitions but he has scored a paltry four goals in 31 Premier League appearances.
It is not just a lack of goals but also his constant inability to get involved in matches which has frustrated countless supporters time and time again.
Last night he delivered another dreadful performance as United once again fired a blank in the Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
The forward’s future is far from certain as United scour the market for a new number nine, with Liam Delap being seen as the club’s priority target.
Consequently, the Manchester Evening News report that Hojlund’s days at Old Trafford are looking increasingly numbered.
The paper states that “senior figures at the club have also lost confidence in Rasmus Hojlund, who will be made available for transfer” this summer.
The Red Devils will hope that any transfer fee they can get for him can help boost their summer budget.
If Delap can be persuaded to join United, Hojlund’s potential sale price would surely contribute much towards the Ipswich striker’s £30 million release clause.
Hojlund reportedly has suitors in Italy where he made his name playing for Atalanta BC.
Italian giants Juventus are said to be interested in his services. What’s more, former United manager, Jose Mourinho, is reported to be interested in bringing Hojlund to Turkey to play for his Fenerbahce side.
