Manchester United are reportedly showing an interest in the potential transfer of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike ahead of this summer.

The Red Devils have had a really poor season and a lot of that is to do with their lack of goal threat up front.

Recent signings such as Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee haven’t really delivered, while Marcus Rashford suffered a major dip in form before being sent out on loan to Aston Villa.

That could mean there’s room for a signing like Ekitike, who is impressing a great deal in the Bundesliga at the moment.

The 22-year-old has 19 goals and seven assists in all competitions so far this season, and Fichajes claim this has seen him work his way onto Man Utd’s radar.

Ekitike has also been on the radar of Arsenal and Chelsea in recent times, so we could see a big battle to bring him to the Premier League this summer.

The Frenchman looks like he could be a good option for a number of top clubs after reviving his career in Germany in recent times.

Ekitike previously looked like a huge talent during his teenage years at Reims, but he struggled upon earning a big move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Ekitike now looks like his career is back on track and it could be the time for him to challenge himself again at a bigger club.

Arsenal might do well to bring Ekitike in to give them more variety up front, while Chelsea also look in need of an upgrade on the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.

United, however, might represent the best opportunity for Ekitike to play regularly and become the focal point of a project.
