Wolverhampton Wanderers have secured Matheus Cunha with a long-term contract extension, despite heavy interest in him during the winter transfer window.

However, speculation about his future continues to swirl. Cunha has become a key figure for Wolves, excelling in various attacking roles.

Whether playing as an attacking midfielder, second striker, or center-forward, the Brazilian has seamlessly adapted and made a significant impact.

His performances have caught the attention of top clubs, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly keeping an eye on him, according to Fichajes.

While Wolves highly value him, reports suggest they could entertain offers over €70 million. Sky Sports News also reported that Nottingham Forest made a club-record bid of around £60 million for Cunha in the winter window.

Does Manchester United feel they lead the race for Matheus Cunha?

According to GIVEMESPORT, Manchester United are confident that the Brazilian, who has a £62.5 million release, will want to join them this summer, regardless of what happens.

They’re reportedly ready to move forward with his signing as soon as Alejandro Garnacho leaves.

While there’s no indication they’ll force the Argentine out—who was a target for Chelsea and Napoli in January—they plan to pursue Cunha if Garnacho decides to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

United have had limited options up front this season, and Wolves have faced similar struggles, with Cunha being one of the few bright spots who could help them turn things around.

Recently,Ben Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT that Aston Villa believes they can negotiate a summer deal for less than the player’s release clause.

“I think suitors that are looking at Cunha – whether it’s Arsenal or Aston Villa or others – they will feel that regardless of Wolves going down or staying up, there’s a deal there to be had in the summer,” Jacobs said.

“And that may not necessarily be specifically by triggering the release clause. They may be able to work around its ballpark to get a slightly more preferable deal.”
