On Monday night Newcastle United head to Old Trafford,  our final game of 2024 up against Manchester United.

Newcastle go into the match as favorites, something NUFC fans aren’t used to when playing here.

Newcastle United expected to win at Old Trafford?

It will sound a bit alien to people, a stadium where we have a terrible history, a number of hidings. One league win in 50 years.

I honestly get why the Newcastle United fans who have been around longer than I have, would be wary of expecting a win.

For me though. Manchester United are nothing more than a name, when it comes to keeping them relevant.

The media, the pundits, do their bidding for them, not the players, not the coaches.

A spent force, a busted flush, they have been heading this way for years.

I appreciate that they have still won a few trophies since Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, but it has been over 11 years now since Fergie left, and I think it is plainly obvious to see that they’ve rapidly declined over the past decade and more.

This is is not a good Manchester United side that Newcastle United are about to face. This Man U team are a joke, a shambles, when you consider just how much has been spent on this group of players.

The tables have turned between Newcastle United and Man U, they look very much like we did on the whole under Mike Ashley, Newcastle are simply the stronger team these days.

I fully expect Newcastle United to go to Old Trafford and wipe the floor with Manchester United on Monday night. The poor record at old Trafford is a thing of the past and it has no bearing on the current crop of players we have got going into this match.

I’m not being arrogant.

I have watched any number of teams go to Old Trafford and hammer them over in recent years.

Bournemouth two years running, Brighton have dished out a few hidings, Tottenham as well.

Its about time Newcastle United did this as well.

If we want to be serious about Newcastle United becoming one of the stronger teams and winning trophies at some point down the line, then we simply have to get our act together and punish poor teams, because that is what Manchester United currently are, a poor team.

Old Trafford is just a big stadium, that historically has been a home for one of the most successful clubs in English football, but that has no relevance to the current Manchester United team. They are simply rubbish.
