Omar Marmoush’s phenomenal goal in City’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth in May has been nominated for the Guinness Goal of the Season award.
Collecting the ball just inside the Cherries’ half, the versatile forward drove towards goal before unleashing a vicious, dipping effort into the top corner to open the scoring at the Etihad Stadium.
Bernardo Silva added a second before further goals from Nico and the visitors’ Daniel Jebbison finished the scoring on a memorable evening where Kevin De Bruyne played his final home match for the Blues.
A January signing from Eintracht Frankfurt, Marmoush’s fantastic finish against Bournemouth represented his eighth and final goal for Pep Guardiola’s side in 2024/25 and capped a productive and impressive start to life in Manchester.
The Egypt international faces competition for Guinness Goal of the Season from Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson, former Aston Villa man Jhon Duran, Fulham’s Harry Wilson, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Bournemouth’s David Brooks, Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma and Carlos Baleba and Ipswich’s Jens Cajuste.
The winner will be announced on Saturday 31 May at 11:00 (UK) – vote for Marmoush here!
