Sunday afternoon saw Tottenham Hotspur take to the Premier League pitch for the twenty third time this season, when they faced an incredible out of form Leicester City side who have lost their last seven Premier League outings, so you'd think this would be a good time for Spurs to get their season back on track.

Ange Postecoglou's line up was as follows: Kinský; Porro, Drăgusin, Gray, Davies; Bergvall, Sarr, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Son (c). Two changes from Thursday's win over Hoffenheim, with Antonin Kinský coming back into the side and James Maddison missing out, as he was still sore from the other night, says manager Postecoglu, "but should be alright for next week."

There wasn't too much to report on in the first period of the game until the thirty-third minute, where a nice passing move from the home side found it's way out to Pedro Porro on the right hand side. He whipped in a superb cross all the way to the back stick where Brazilian forward Richarlison was there to nod home. Two goals in as many games for the man who has just came back from injury, and whilst Englishman Dominic Solanke is spending time on the sidelines, Richarlison has came back fit and firing at the right time.

Spurs a goal to the good at the interval and a fairly decent first half to be happy with. However the second forty five got off the the worst possible start. The Foxes played a ball down the left for Bobby Decordova-Reid who squared across the face of goal for Jamie Vardy to tap home in the very first minute. The 38-year-old showing he's still got it. He now has nine Premier League goals against Spurs. A nightmare start to the second half.

Just four minutes later, things got even worse. Reid played the ball for Moroccon international Bilal El Khannouss who carried the ball forward with absolutely no pressure on him whatsoever, and Spurs would be made to pay as the midfielder let fly from about twenty five yards out which beat Kinský all ends up kissing the post as it went into the bottom corner. The same old problems happening for Spurs and you have to wonder what was said in the dressing room at half time.

This caused Postecoglou to make some much needed changes, taking off Pape Matar Sarr and Richarlison for Sergio Reguilón and Mikey Moore. This didn't go down too well with the crowd however, with boos ringing round the stadium in response to taking Richarlison off following his goal. There is a chance though that this sub was going to always happen anyway, you have to consider he has just came back from an injury and his minutes must be managed right at this moment in time.

Spurs continuted to dominate the possession and chances as the game approached the final few moments of the game as they pushed for an all important equaliser to save themselves from an embarrassing defeat at home to huge relegation candidates. Kulusevski sent a delightfull ball into the box that was met by Moore on the side-foot volley, but was superbly saved by Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk, although the offside flag was raised.

Full time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a huge lapse in concentration in the first five minutes of the second half is what costed Spurs all three points against a poor Leicester City. Spurs have now not won in seven home games, which is their longest run since 2008. Yes you can say injuries play a part, but injuries happen for all clubs in football, it's part of the game and shouldn't be too big of an excuse. Spurs stay in 15th position in the Premier League table and the Spurs faithful will yet again be asking questions at Postecoglou and the hierarchy above him.

Spurs now have a home game against Swedish side Elfsborg in the last matchday of the UEFA Europa League 'league phase' before a trip to the west of the capital to take on Brentford, whose home form has been incredible this season, so the games don't get any easier for Tottenham Hotspur.
