Arsenal will clash heads with Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they look to earn maximum points on the road in the Premier League. The Gunners secured a narrow 1-0 win over Newcastle United recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.
Mikel Arteta will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first team for this game. Both Mikel Merino and Riccardo Calafiori could get a chance to impress from the start of this contest.
David Raya will feature in goal for the North London club after securing a clean sheet in his last league appearance. Riccardo Calafiori will function alongside Jakub Kiwior at the centre of Arteta’s defence as they try to keep things tidy at the back throughout the 90 minutes.
Ben White will play as the right-back while Myles Lewis-Skelly hopes to give a good account of himself on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Arteta could opt for a midfield three of Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard as they focus on establishing their superiority over the opposition in the middle of the park. All three of them need to move the ball well so that they can engineer some clear-cut chances in the final third.
Jorginho and Ethan Nwaneri will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Arteta opts to call upon their services.
Gabriel Martinelli will hope to prove his worth on the left flank while Bukayo Saka looks to weave his magic on the right wing. Mikel Merino will lead the line for the North London club down the middle.
Leandro Trossard will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if the Gunners are in need of a goal by then.
