Mohamed Salah says he hates the notion that Liverpool are underdogs in the Premier League title race and insists his aim this season is to "win it all".

The 32-year-old has made an electrifying start to the 2024/25 campaign, reinforcing his status as one of the best wingers in the world.

Salah's eight goals in Liverpool's first 11 Premier League games of the season have fired the club top of the table, establishing a five-point lead over Manchester City who are in the midst of an uncharacteristic four-match losing streak across all competitions.

Uncertainty over Salah's long-term future has dominated headlines over the past few months, with his contract up at the end of the season, but the Egyptian is fully focused on winning trophies at Liverpool and insists that Arne Slot's side should not be underestimated.

"Win it all. In my opinion, I work so hard every day, I hate the idea that we are underdogs," Salah told the club's YouTube show Reds Roundtable of his ambitions. "We have an incredible group ... In each position, you're gonna find players that are really one of the top three in the world.

"So, why we don't win it? This city and this club has to always fight for everything."

Liverpool have also made a strong start in the Champions League, winning their opening four games of the revamped league phase. The six-time winners currently top the 36-team table, with AC Milan, Bologna, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen - the latter a resounding 4-0 win for the Reds at Anfield - those to have come up short against Slot's ever-improving side.

Salah is currently away with Egypt on international duty, preparing to take part in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Cape Verde and Botswana. Southampton will be his first opponent when the Premier League returns, three days before a huge Champions League clash with 15-time winners Real Madrid.
