There has been a lot written and said about Rafael Leao’s future, but AC Milan have already made a decision ahead of the summer.
Leao has reached double figures in goals and assists for the fourth straight season at Milan, and while there are still inconsistencies to his game there is also no doubting he is one of the most important players.
Without Champions League football there had been some talk about him potentially leaving the club. However, Leao continues to show his attachment to the Rossoneri, and a recent report from La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke of his desire to stay.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto commented on the future of Leao and what Milan plan to do with the winger.
“Milan’s intention would be to start again with Rafael Leao as a fixed point and cornerstone of the new cycle. For Milan, Leao is an important asset. Unless there are really significant offers, which exceed or are in any case around 80 million, Leao will not leave,” he said (via MN24).
Conceicao’s decision to try a 3-4-3 in the win against Udinese certainly seemed to bring some initial benefits for Leao, and the challenge is to follow that up against Atalanta and Inter.
