Celtic 4-0 Port Glasgow Athletic. This was the last ever game for Celtic against Port Glasgow Athletic who were relegated that season after eight years in the top flight and then went bust in 1911. Known as “The Undertakers,” the reason for that unique nickname remains unknown. Historians have pointed out that they were possibly founded by a local funeral director. Another explanation they were known as ‘The Undertakers’ is because they played in black and white. The game itself was one sided, on the scoresheet were; a Quinn double, Loney and Hamilton.

Celtic’s league game against Aberdeen at Celtic Park is abandoned on 61 minutes due to fog. The match was stopped by referee Hugh Williamson after more than an hour before a goal was scored. A scrappy affair, the conditions made it an extremely poor game. The two teams replayed the match four days later where the encounter finished 2-2. Willie Miller’s Aberdeen who eventually finished runners-up in the 1994/1995 season didn’t lose to Celtic in the league recording three draws and one win against Tommy Burns’ side.

Hibs 0-3 Celtic. Neil Lennon’s go-to men Gary Hooper and Anthony Stokes struck in the capital to secure an important victory for the Hoops to keep our hopes alive in the title race. Celtic stayed five points in front of Rangers, but Walter Smith’s side had a remarkable four games in hand over the league leaders. It was another crazy week in the ongoing dispute between Celtic and the SFA. SFA President George Peat criticised Celtic for making issues of continuous refereeing displays. Celtic’s hierarchy rightfully responded accordingly.

Dundee United 1-4 Celtic. Friday night under lights at Tannadice. Leigh Griffiths scored his 50th goal for Celtic. After he scored, the then Hoops hero displayed the number 50 underneath his top to celebrate his individual accolade. Griffiths also netted his 51st for good measure early on in the second half. Jozo Simunovic and Kris Commons added to the emphatic scoreline with the latter scoring an acrobatic volley for his side’s fourth.
