Pellegrini still doubtful to start vs Porto

Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is not certain to start in tonight’s first leg of the Europa League playoffs vs Porto.

The Italian midfielder has found himself in a difficult situation as Claudio Ranieri no longer considers him a pivotal player in his starting eleven.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, in February, the Giallorossi captain only took to the field in the second half at San Siro against Milan in the Coppa Italia, remaining on the bench both against Napoli and on the most recent matchday against Venezia.

Thus, the possibility of not seeing him versus Porto is a concrete one.

There is also growing uncertainty regarding Pellegrini’s contractual situation with the captain being linked with a summer exit from the Italian capital.
