Ange Postecoglou says there have been no further discussions over his Tottenham future since winning the Europa League final.
The Spurs boss guided the club to their first trophy since 2008 in his second season in charge by beating Manchester United in Bilbao.
But speculation over his future persists with his side 17th in the Premier League table with just one game remaining.
Speaking at the trophy parade outside the stadium to celebrate the victory, Postecoglou joked with the Spurs fans by saying: “I’ll leave you with this: all the best television series, season three is better than season two. Thank you.”
But the Australian boss says he is no clearer on where he stands at the club.
“I haven’t had any discussions with the club,” he said. “Like I said before the [Europa League final], I was just waiting for clear air to to give me some guidance.
“I assume at some point somebody will tell me something, or if not I’m just going to roll up next season like [George] Costanza in Seinfeld, and sit at my desk and get on with my job.
“I should have thought about [promising a third season] a bit more, because as some have rightly pointed out, sometimes they kill off the main character, so I could be in strife there.
“I haven’t given it a lot of thought. As I said, I refused to be distracted by anything other than the opportunity that was before us, and before the game I wanted to take that.”
Postecoglou also reiterated that he does not think his job at the club is finished, and that he believes his side are heading in the right direction.
“I said even before the game that I really believe we were just building something,” he said. “A significant win accelerates that, and I really believe that’s the case.
“I will not put a limit on what we can achieve, but I certainly believe that its exciting, the possibilities of next year, knowing I’ve got a group of players now, and staff and a club that knows what it takes to win and wants more of it.”
