Following the midweek defeat to Bologna at the UCL, which culminated in Nuri Sahin's sacking as manager, Borussia Dortmund won't have much time to recover. The Black-and-Yellows will now face Werder Bremen on Saturday in the Bundesliga.
Seven points away from a top-four finish, the Black-and-Yellows need to urgently bounce back from a terrible four-straight loss streak since New Year's. They will have the chance to do so in front of the loyal Yellow Wall, facing a direct opponent. While Bremen remains in ninth place, only one point ahead of Dortmund, BVB attempts to stay in the hunt for European competitions.
The U19 coach, Mike Tullberg, will manage Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, who is only 39 years of age. The young Danish manager will try to put Dortmund back in winning manners, playing against a side that already gave a hard time to the Black-and-Yellows in a nil-nil draw in August last year. BVB desperately needs a win to (finally) start 2025 in a good mood. Here is a pre-match analysis of Borussia Dortmund x Werder Bremen.
