Coach Thiago Motta and Weston McKennie spoke to the press after Juventus’ 0-2 defeat against Benfica on Matchday 8 of the UEFA Champions League, league phase.
“In today's game we lacked a cutting edge in the final third, we faced a team that deserved to win by creating and finishing better than us. The first half was difficult, in the second half we did a little better but not enough to cause them many problems. There were situations that we could certainly have handled better, we didn't do as we wanted. We have to improve quickly, on Sunday we have another important game that we want to win.”
“We had difficulties going forward, we tried harder in the second half but we have to do it throughout the match. I've been here for five years and wearing the captain's armband is an honour for me. All together we have to find a way to make it work and play for each other. We always want to win, now we have to think about the next game and stay united.”
