Paris Saint-Germain will return to the French capital with a one-goal lead after edging Arsenal 1–0 on Tuesday night at Emirates Stadium in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal.

The Ligue 1 champions wasted little time making an impact. Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring in the fourth minute, finishing off a move he helped create.

After switching the play out wide to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Dembélé continued his run into the box. Kvaratskhelia cut the ball back with the outside of his right foot, and Dembélé buried a low shot off the post and in.

Arsenal looked to have drawn level later in the match, but their goal was disallowed after a VAR check, leaving PSG in control ahead of next week’s return leg in Paris.

Since the calendar turned to 2025, PSG have now played six games against Premier League clubs in the Champions League. The Parisians secured four wins in those matches against Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.

Despite not playing in England’s top flight, The Athletic’s Colin Millar spotlighted on X that the Ligue 1 side have won more matches (4) against Premier League teams in 2025 than Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton have combined (3).

PSG will look to secure a fifth win over a Premier League when they welcome the Gunners to the Parc des Princes next Wednesday.
