Real Madrid ‘don’t understand’ Vinícius Jr’s recent comments on his future | OneFootball

The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid have been left bemused by the recent comments laid out by Vinícius Jr. regarding his plans for the future.

That’s according to Real insider Melchor Ruiz of COPE, who has on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.

Vinícius, of course, grabbed the headlines with a fresh round of comments regarding his future earlier this week.

After clinching Man of the Match honours in Los Blancos’ Champions League downing of Manchester City, the Brazilian assured that, despite the mounting media chatter, he has no intention of departing Spain’s capital.

Vinícius, in fact, went as far as to state:

“I will resolve the negotiation of my contract in the next few days and I will stay here for a long time.”

Such comments, however, have only resulted in fresh confusion behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu.

As per the aforementioned Melchor Ruiz, Florentino Pérez and co. ‘didn’t understand’ Vinícius’ comments surrounding his plans moving forward.

This comes with Real Madrid adamant that it should be they, and not the club’s players, who decide when contract renewal talks take place.

Despite as much, though, the Spanish champions are not taking into consideration Vinícius’ sale under any circumstances.
