Carlo Ancelotti bid a teary farewell to Real Madrid last night and thus oversaw his final game as the coach of the prestigious team. There is, however, no time to waste in his hectic transfer.
Having already agreed with the Brazilian national team to take over as their new coach, the Italian tactician must immediately begin working towards fixing the sinking ship of the Selecao.
With the next international break set to begin in under two weeks, he will oversee his first game as the Brazil NT manager against Ecuador and will now begin planning the squad to call up.
It is no secret that Ancelotti will have several familiar faces in the Brazil NT with Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes, Endrick and Eder Militao all having worked closely with him at Real Madrid.
As relayed in a recent report by Tati Mantovani (h/t Madrid Xtra), Rodrygo will not be a part of Ancelotti’s first-ever squad list for Brazil and will thus play no part in the team’s upcoming games in the international break.

The decision was taken after evaluating the player’s physical and mental condition and observing signs of fatigue. It has even been agreed with Ancelotti that the player must prioritize rest to rejuvenate.
The ongoing season has not been an easy one for Rodrygo for he did not hit the same levels of output that one is used to seeing from him. Further, he lost his starting spot towards the end of the season after Ancelotti changed the formation.
With a new manager arriving and a lot set to change in the coming weeks, Rodryo’s place in Real Madrid is more doubtful than ever before and the player could well leave the club this summer.
The mental fatigue and sense of being overwhelmed, thus, is understandable and it is clear that the player needs time to plan out his future and return to his best.
