As Real Madrid prepared for their battle against Atletico Madrid, the reigning champions of Spain and Europe were left sweating over the availability of key forward Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman did not train with the group on Tuesday due to some muscle problems which he had sustained last weekend against Rayo Vallecano.
He was scheduled to undergo tests earlier today, following which he has now been included in the squad list for the clash at the Metropolitano, which will come as a relief for Real Madrid.
Now, according to AS, Mbappe still has some pain in his right ankle but believes he is fit to play. As such, all signs point to him starting tonight against Atletico Madrid in the Euroderbi.

A test was scheduled for 12:30 PM today to assess Mbappe’s right ankle, and the outcome was optimistic. He kicked the ball, ran, jumped put himself to the test and emerged with the green light.
The signs are encouraging and the player feels ready. The only question now is whether Ancelotti decides to start him or not. After all, Mbappe still has some minor discomfort, but nothing severe.
The manager’s dilemma is whether to play his ace goalscorer from the beginning at 80-90% fitness or keep him as an impact substitute.
If Ancelotti deems him not ready, Brahim Diaz would be expected to step into the team. However, as things stand, Mbappe remains the leading candidate to start against Atleti at the Metropolitano.
