According to a report from AS, it has come to light that Real Madrid have officially begun the process of renewing Vinicius Jr.’s contract as they look to secure his long-term future at the club.
According to the outlet, the Spanish giants have reached out to the player’s representatives to determine the financial terms he is seeking for an extension and Vinicius has already provided his response. Now, the club is expected to reply in due course.
Although Real Madrid had initially planned to address his contract situation next summer, Saudi Arabia’s aggressive pursuit of the player has forced them to act sooner.
With the Brazilian star emerging as one of the most influential players in world football, Middle Eastern clubs are reportedly offering an astronomical financial package to lure him away. However, Vinicius remains committed to continuing his journey in Madrid.
Vinicius last signed a contract extension in 2022, which runs until 2027. The financial details of his current deal highlight his growing importance within the squad:
The agreement is worth a total of €75 million net, averaging €15 million per season in a progressively increasing salary structure. Initially, he earned €10 million annually, with his wages set to rise to €18 million per season by the final year of his deal.

A clause guarantees him an additional €2 million per season in the final two years of his contract if he wins major individual honours such as FIFA’s Best Award or the Ballon d’Or.
Despite being one of the highest earners at the club, Real Madrid are carefully managing wage distribution among their biggest stars—Vinicius, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe.
While all three earn around €15 million net per season, Mbappe’s contract includes a €40 million signing bonus, effectively boosting his annual earnings by approximately €8 million.
This financial balancing act makes negotiations for Vinicius’ renewal a delicate process.
The growing influence of Saudi Arabian football has led to ambitious transfer moves for elite players, and Vinicius is no exception.
Reports suggest that Saudi clubs are prepared to offer him a staggering €1 billion over five years, an amount far beyond what Real Madrid—or any European club—could realistically match.
However, despite the immense financial incentive, Vinicius is not considering an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Brazilian has repeatedly demonstrated his loyalty to Real Madrid, and the club is equally determined to keep him as a key figure in their long-term project.
With talks now in progress, it remains to be seen how Madrid will structure his new deal while maintaining financial stability within the squad.
