According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are showing no signs of allowing Trent Alexander-Arnold to leave early for Real Madrid.

Although the right-back has already confirmed his departure from Anfield, the Reds are not open to negotiating his early release, even if Real Madrid are willing to pay for it.

Los Blancos are keen to have Alexander-Arnold available for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. To make that possible, they are ready to offer more than £500,000 to bring the player in a month earlier than planned.

However, sources from Liverpool suggest that the amount needed would be much higher. Previous reports have indicated that his early departure could cost Real Madrid somewhere between €1.5 and €2 million.

Real Madrid see Alexander-Arnold as a key player

Real Madrid’s interest in getting Alexander-Arnold sooner rather than later is not just about the Club World Cup. They see him as a player who can contribute both immediately and in the long run.

With Dani Carvajal soon returning from injury, the coaching staff do not want to take any risks by overusing him.

Getting Alexander-Arnold early would provide much-needed cover and a smooth transition into the squad, especially with several key matches on the horizon.

But as things stand, Liverpool are in no mood to cooperate unless the Spanish giants offer a much larger compensation fee.

Despite the player’s confirmed exit, the English club is standing firm, likely aware of his value even in his final weeks.

Real Madrid might still try to push for an agreement, but unless they increase their offer significantly, Alexander-Arnold will have to wait until the agreed-upon date to join his new team.

For now, it looks like Real Madrid will have to wait just a little longer to see their new right-back in action.
