Recurring Tonali substitutions irritate Newcastle fans

Several Newcastle fans complain on social media that coach Eddie Howe often replaces Italy international Sandro Tonali around minute 60.

The Magpies suffered a 2-1 away loss at Chelsea on Sunday, seeing Tonali subbed off after 68 minutes.

It’s becoming a recurrent theme for Newcastle, and some Magpies supporters have started complaining on social media.

Tonali has started four consecutive Premier League games against Manchester City, Everton, Brighton and Chelsea but never played the full 90 minutes.

Recurring Tonali substitutions irritate Newcastle fans

The Italian midfielder was subbed off after 77 minutes vs City, 71 against Everton, 65 with Brighton and 68 against Chelsea today.

Tonali’s 10-month ban for illegal betting ended on August 28, and the ex-Milan star returned to the pitch on the same day, playing 62 minutes in an EFL Cup game against Nottingham Forest.

Overall, he has eight appearances across all competitions this season.

Since his return to action, Tonali has also made four Italy appearances, playing the full 90 minutes three times.
