The left-back has made a great start to life at Bramall Lane since moving from Peterborough United.

Chris Wilder and his Sheffield United team have shown no signs of a hangover from their dismal 2023/24 campaign, and they have made an excellent start to the new season.

Sat second in the Championship behind Sunderland on goal difference, the last few weeks have been superb for the Yorkshire club, winning all of their last four matches after a slightly sticky patch after they returned from the last international break.

The Blades were able to keep hold of key stars like Anel Ahmedhodzic, Gustavo Hamer and Oli Arblaster in the summer, and all three have made a huge impact on the team this season, but a summer signing from Peterborough United has adapted to the second tier spectacularly.

Harrison Burrows made the switch to Bramall Lane for a reported £6m including add-ons in July, and he has made an instant impact on the team, and it seems as though nobody in the division can compete with the Sheffield United star's performances at the moment.

The Blades' squad is filled with extremely talented players in nearly every position, but their defensive unit is particularly strong.

Michael Cooper commands a usual backline of Alfie Gilchrist, Harry Souttar, Ahmedhodzic and Burrows, with the full-backs extremely attacking. It has led to the team having extreme success defensively, conceding just seven goals in 15 games.

While they have been excellent in a defensive aspect, Burrows has shown just how valuable the modern full-back can be to a team, and he is currently the Championship's best player, according to FotMob.

He has a current rating of 7.63, 0.03 higher than teammate Vini Souza. He has created more chances (21) than any other player in the division in his position, and has created the most big chances at Sheffield United with four.

Burrows is a constant threat going forward, despite playing at left-back, and averages 1.5 shots per 90, finding the back of the net 10.5% of the time.

Although he is known for his attacking prowess, he does possess good defensive qualities, and is not a liability when his side are forced backwards on the odd occasion. Burrows has racked up 16 interceptions from the left side of defence, something that allows his side to get back on the front foot.

Burrows has already had big moments as a Blade

Despite signing in the summer, the 22-year-old has already come in clutch on multiple occasions, most notably against Bristol City just days before their Steel City derby clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

The Blades left it late to come from behind against the Robins at Ashton Gate, with Ryan One equalising in the 86th minute before Burrows smashed in to win the game in the dying moments.

His 98th minute winner sparked scenes of jubilation in the away end and gave Sheffield United even more confidence in the derby, where they beat their bitter rivals 1-0 at Bramall Lane in a tight and cagey affair.

Burrows' finish was excellent, especially considering that the ball came at him quickly with Bristol City's defenders putting immediate pressure on him. However, he showed in the space of 10 seconds why he was brought to the club, with the left-back showing maturity beyond his years to find the perfect area of the goal to strike the ball at.

Burrows is one for the future, but he has already proven that he can produce now, and for at most £6m, he is starting to look like a real bargain.
