Tottenham Hotspur will face off against Aston Villa at Villa Park this Friday night as they hope to earn a good result on the road in the Premier League. Spurs suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss at the hands of Crystal Palace recently. Hence, we can expect the London side to be eager to bounce back and find some form ahead of the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United later this month.

Ange Postecoglu will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his starting XI for this clash. Richarlison could get the nod to lead the line for Tottenham up top.

Defence

Antonin Kinsky will continue to operate in between the sticks for Spurs after conceding twice in his last appearance. Kevin Danso will play alongside Ben Davies at the heart of Postecoglu’s defence as they try to keep a good shape on the defensive end of the field.

Djed Spence will fill in as the right-back while Sergio Reguilon hopes to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are expected to be rested on the bench as they provide cover for the centre-back positions.

Midfield

Pape Matar Sarr and Archie Gray will function as the holding midfielders for Tottenham as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles in the middle of the park.

The gifted trio of Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore will get a chance to play just ahead of them as part of Postecoglu’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if Spurs are to secure a good result this Friday night.

Yves Bissouma and Heung-Min Son will get a rest on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Richarlison will lead the charge for the North London club in the final third. The Brazilian attacker has to find a way to cause some problems for the Aston Villa centre-backs during the 90 minutes.

Dominic Solanke will make up the numbers on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if Tottenham are in need of a goal by then.
