Rubén Sellés sacked by Hull | OneFootball

Hull City have announced the dismissal of head coach Rúben Sellés despite avoiding relegation this season.

The Tigers finished in 21st ahead of Luton Town on goal difference to avoid dropping down to League On thanks to a 1-1 draw with Portsmouth on the final day.

"Following a thorough review of football operations after a challenging campaign, the club feels a change in leadership is necessary to move the team forward in line with our ambitions," a statement on the club's website said.

"We would like to thank Rubén, James [Oliver-Pearce, assistant head coach] and Tobias [Loveland, first team coach] for their hard work and dedication during their time at the MKM Stadium and wish them well for their future careers."

Sellés oversaw 27 Championship games in charge of Hull in total, winning nine and drawing seven.
