When asked about the situation, Fabregas remained calm but clear: “We don’t know anything; he’s one of our players and for now he’s staying with us. I don’t know if he will go to the Club World Cup with Real Madrid.”

It is a diplomatic yet telling statement from Fabregas, suggesting that while he values Paz highly, he is also aware that his club’s growing profile makes them a stepping stone for young talents aiming to impress their parent clubs.

What adds another layer of intrigue is Fabregas’ admission that Como is keeping a close eye on other Real Madrid players.

“We have an excellent relationship with them. We’re very interested in other players in their squad; we’ve made it clear that our players are playing and getting minutes,” he said.
