Napoli are three points clear of Inter at the top of the table with four rounds to play, as a pair of Scott McTominay goals swept Torino aside to make them the new Scudetto favourites.
The title race was transformed in the space of eight days, as while last week they caught Inter in top spot, here they knew the Nerazzurri had already lost 1-0 to Roma this afternoon.
David Neres and Juan Jesus were out injured, while Giacomo Raspadori had flu symptoms, but Alessandro Buongiorno returned to start against his old club. Toro lost just two of their last 16 games, but while Gvidas Gineitis was suspended with Borna Sosa, Alieu Njie, Duvan Zapata and Perr Schuurs injured. Eljif Elmas had an emotional return to the Stadio Maradona and Samuele Ricci pulled out in the warm-up, replaced by Adrien Tameze.
For the third game in a row, the deadlock was broken by McTominay, who got in front of Saul Coco in the six-yard box to turn in the Zambo Anguissa roll across from the right.
The second goal was very similar, as this time Matteo Politano got down the right and stood up the cross, where McTominay battled between two Torino players and still managed to get his foot to it first from eight yards.

Anguissa limped off after a knock to the ribs left him winded, but Philip Billing was unlucky not to make it 3-0 when his header thumped the crossbar on the hour mark.
There were more concerns as Buongiorno pulled up mid-run and immediately gestured to the Napoli bench that he needed to be substituted, suggesting a muscular problem.
