Luciano Spalletti will have been happy with how the Italian contingent fared in Tuesday’s Champions League clash between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan took on Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday.
And there was no shortage of Italian representation in the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven.
Wingback Federico Dimarco was absent, as he continues to work his way back to fitness.
But there were nevertheless four Italian internationals in the Inter starting lineup. And also a notable Azzurri name who came off the bench.,

Defender Alessandro Bastoni won UEFA’s “MVP” award for Tuesday’s match.
And midfielder Nicolo Barella would have surely been just as deserving as his Azzurri teammate.
The pair showed why they are among the absolute pillars for both Inter and Italy. Their quality was decisive on the very biggest stage.
Then, there were veterans Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian.
Tuesday’s match was a huge test for the veteran duo. They had to give absolutely everything, now both well into their thirties.
But the performances from Acerbi and Darmian were enough to suggest that both could even still have something left to give on the international stage.
Then, it was substitute Davide Frattesi who came off the bench to score Inter’s late winner.
The former Sassuolo midfielder showed that, even if he doesn’t always start for Inter, he certainly has the match-winning quality that has given him a prominent place in the Italy setup.
