Swansea City are set to continue their busy start to the transfer window by signing a Lincoln City midfielder
Swansea City are closing in on the signing Lincoln City midfielder Ethan Erhahon as they continue their aggressive transfer approach.
The Swans kicked off their window with the arrival of Zeidane Inoussa from Swedish side BK Hacken, with a mammoth £5.1 million deal agreed in May for the winger.
19-year-old striker Bobby Wales was next, joining on a four-year deal from Scottish outfit Kilmarnock. but now attentions are turning to the midfield area, with head coach Alan Sheehan set to add more depth to his engine room if he can get a deal over the line.
According to Alan Nixon via Patreon, the Swans are in pole position to sign Lincoln City midfielder Ethan Erhahon.
The Imps want in excess of £1 million for the Scotsman, who featured 38 times for the League One club last season, and Swansea are willing to pay it to get a deal over the line.
The 24-year-old came through the ranks at St. Mirren, representing the Buddies for five years before crossing the border to join Lincoln.
After three successful seasons at the LNER Stadium, Erhahon now looks to have earned a Championship move.
According to journalist Pete O'Rourke, the Welsh outfit have already had a £600,000 bid rejected for the midfielder's services.
If Swansea are successful in their pursuit of Erhahon, the Welsh outfit may allow Jay Fulton to leave the club.
Plymouth Argyle are believed to be working on a deal for Fulton if the opportunity arises for the 31-year-old to depart, according to Nixon.
The Swans gained momentum as the 2024/25 season went on, and ultimately finished only seven points shy of the play-offs.
This upturn in form under Sheehan has led to increased excitement for next term, especially if the club can carry their current momentum into the 2025/26 campaign.
After recruiting Inoussa and Wales, adding Erhahon into the mix makes for a brilliant start to the transfer window.
The Welsh outfit are obviously keen to back their new boss, impressed by the club’s end to the season, which saw Swansea lose just once in their last 8 fixtures.
The Swans' manager has previously highlighted the importance of this summer for the club’s ambitions next term.
"I think we are going to have to get the right blend," Sheehan said to BBC Sport.
"I think we are all very clear on that. I think we all agree that we want to bring in potentially really good players, but we want to give them that opportunity to thrive and in order to do that, you have to have the right culture, the right experience and the right blend."
