While Premier League fixtures often keep Sydney-based Manchester City fans burning the midnight oil, the recent 9:30 pm kick-off against Crystal Palace offered a rare and welcome opportunity for the local City faithful to come together - and they made the most of it.
The Sydney Blues took full advantage of the favourable time slot by hosting a lively matchday viewing at a local sports bar, transforming the venue into a mini-Etihad away from home.
With City flags flying high and anticipation in the air, the scene was set for a night of football, community, and celebration.
A signed Ruben Dias kit was up for grabs as a raffle prize, which found a happy new home with member Mark.
"Thank you both for organising the event – it was a fantastic venue and Oli & I both had a great time (and that’s without taking into consideration a certain lucky door prize!),” Mark shared.
The event also served as a vibrant meetup for newer members of the branch, who were welcomed into the fold by longtime Blues.
“The event was a big turnout, and it was great to have everyone together,” said Tanya, Sydney’s Chair.
“It gave newer members a chance to meet a lot of fellow Blues.”
The branch led a further raffle for a signed Erling Haaland shirt, raising nearly $1,500 for the MCFC Foodbank.
It was a night that brought together City fans from all walks of life - united by their passion for the club, their generosity, and a shared love for matchday moments, even on the other side of the world.
