FC Bayern face Werder Bremen for the 116th time in the Bundesliga on Friday evening (20.30 CET) in a fixture that's been played more often than any other in the history of the German top flight. Bayern's 62 wins stand up well against 27 defeats and 26 draws. Check out the facts on the encounter with Werder to find out what speaks in favour of the men from Munich consolidating their lead in the table (six points ahead of Leverkusen) ahead of the direct clash with the Werkself on 15 February.

Fortress Allianz Arena

FC Bayern have dropped just two points in their ten home games in the Bundesliga so far this season (1-1 against Leverkusen) - the best record of any team in the big five European leagues. Of late, the fans at the Allianz Arena have consistently had plenty of reasons to celebrate: Bayern have scored at least three goals in each of their last eight league home games - the last time they managed that was in 1993, when they netted in 11 consecutive games at home.

Bayern beat Holstein Kiel 4-3 at home in the Allianz Arena last weekend.

Goal machine operating at full capacity

Generally speaking, FC Bayern have been looking very hungry for goals in the league this season, and racked up 62 in their first 20 Bundesliga matches (3.1 per game). In the history of the league, only Bayern themselves have scored more goals after 20 matchdays - 65 in the 2021/22 season.

Bayern's league run

Bayern have won their last six consecutive Bundesliga games. The last time they won more in succession was in 2020 (14). No other club in Europe's big five leagues has achieved such a high win-rate (80 per cent) as FC Bayern this season.

Harry Kane celebrated goals number 54 and 55 in his 50th Bundesliga game last weekend.

Bayern's best season in nine years

With 51 points after 20 games, FC Bayern are enjoying their best Bundesliga season in nine years. Only twice (2013/14 and 2015/16) have the men from Munich picked up more points in the first 20 matchdays. However, their opponents from Bremen are also on an impressive run: Werder are enjoying their best Bundesliga season in 13 years and have 30 points. They've already picked up as many points away from home as they did in the whole of last season (17).

Kane better than any previous player

Harry Kane scored his 54th and 55th goals in his 50th Bundesliga game against Kiel last Saturday. No other player has scored as often in his first 50 appearances in Germany's top flight. Incidentally, our number 9 bagged his first Bundesliga goal in August 2023 - in a 4-0 away win against Werder Bremen.
