Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a fresh injury blow ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash versus AZ Alkmaar.
Spurs are already missing a host of key players, and now Ange Postecoglou will miss the services of Dejan Kulusevski, who has been one of their constant performers this season.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Kulusevski is definitely going to miss the Europa League clash on Thursday. He is also certain to miss the weekend clash against AFC Bournemouth and may not even return before the international break.
The 24-year-old winger has picked up a foot injury, and the Sweden international is currently undergoing tests to know the extent of the issue.
In an injury-hit season for Spurs, Kulusevski has made 42 appearances for Tottenham already this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists.
His absence will come as a huge blow for Tottenham, and it comes at a time when Postecoglou needs his key players to step up towards the closing stages of the season.
Spurs are missing Dominic Solanke, Richarlison, Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies through injuries.
Postecoglou recently admitted that he is expecting his key players to return from injuries and make big contributions, and the Spurs boss will be really frustrated with the latest blow.
Kulusevski is usually among the fittest players in the team, and Spurs will hope that the Swedish star won’t be out on the sidelines for a long time.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are hopeful that first-choice centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will return to the side quickly after long injury lay-offs.
Romero has not played this year for Spurs and has been sidelined with a quadriceps injury since November.
As per The Telegraph, the centre-back has been called up to the preliminary Argentina squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Brazil later this month.
