Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur are now pushing to sign Milan defender Fikayo Tomori.

It was reported yesterday that Spurs had contacted Tomori through intermediaries and they saw him as Premier League quality, after Aston Villa had an offered pegged back.

Gianluca di Marzio has now reported that Tottenham are serious about the defender and are now ahead of Aston Villa in the race. They are pushing to land him late in the January transfer window.

They want to sign the player on a loan deal and Milan are not opposed to the sale, with reports previously suggesting that they are prepared to let him depart if the right offer arrives.

Juventus had also tried to sign the Englishman but had backed out from the move after his performance against the Bianconeri a couple of weeks ago. The defender’s stock has reduced in the last few seasons and that is why he is seen as a sellable entity.
