One expert has been speaking this week on Chelsea’s current owners potentially selling the club already after just three years in charge.
It certainly has been a very expensive project so far and they are yet to see its fruition on the pitch. They will be hoping that the last game, a big win against Southampton, will kick start some new good form going into the latter end of the season now.
The Blues won the game 4-0 in what was a much needed convincing performance, with goals coming from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella.
The Saints were a very poor opposition of course, but Chelsea really needed a big win and a big performance, and that is exactly what they did last night right in the nick of time as they look to keep challenging for that all important Champions League spot.
Neto was superb playing as the number 9 and as well as getting his goal, he has explained why he loves playing as a striker with a hilarious answer!
Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali with a cracked badge.
A lot has been said about Chelsea’s owners having disagreements, and there is a clear split between the Clearlake side and Todd Boehly’s side right now.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider it’s unlikely Behdad Eghbali or Boehly will be able to agree a full takeover deal.
He told said: “I think the chances of them selling is low and it would be very hard to find a buyer who would bail them out of what they’ve invested to date, which is probably close to £3.5billion by now.
“They have also still got the stadium issue. I think it’s been too expensive and that they overpaid.
“If they can do everything that they want to do with English football as leaders of that disruption in terms of changes to the game, changes to the way it monetises itself, then clearly, they can still make a return.
“But it’s been a very expensive project, so I think it’d be very hard to find somebody that would take them out completely.
“Would the other side of the consortium take out the other? I don’t know. It’s hard to say.
“It’s not impossible, but it seems unlikely.”
