Aston Villa's away day on Tyneside against Newcastle United went from bad to worse after striker Jhon Durán was sent off in the first half at St. James' Park.
After going 1-0 down thanks to a superb 2nd-minute strike by Anthony Gordon, Unai Emery's task of taking something on the road suffered a blow when Durán was deemed to have stamped on Fabian Schär.
The Colombian international was given his marching orders by Anthony Taylor, and in protest, then lashed out before heading down the tunnel as Villa were reduced to ten men 13 minutes before the break.
Was Durán hard-done by Taylor's decision?
