The FA Cup’s third round is one of the most eagerly anticipated dates on the English football calendar.
This year’s draw has thrown up some classic cup contests, with David vs Goliath matchups offering the potential of giant-killings.
Tottenham take on fifth-tier Tamworth, who are the lowest-ranked side to reach this stage. Meanwhile, Newcastle United host Bromley at St James’ Park and Liverpool welcome Accrington Stanley to Anfield.
Elsewhere, there’s some fascinating contests between top-tier teams in the third round, including Graham Potter’s first game in charge of West Ham.
There’s also a meeting between the most successful sides in FA Cup history. Mikel Arteta has called the contest a ‘beautiful game’ as record 14-time winners Arsenal host holders, and 13-time champions, Manchester United.
This season’s FA Cup will again be broadcast on the BBC and ITV for a UK audience and there are some unmissable ties to watch over the weekend.
