Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti was left less than impressed by the actions of defender Jesús Vallejo earlier this month.
That’s according to Relevo, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
Stopper Vallejo was actually pencilled in for a rare start on January 6th, when Real Madrid locked horns with Deportiva Minera in the Copa del Rey Round-of-32.
This came with the coaching staff at Valdebebas having been keen to afford some of the club’s senior stars a much-needed rest.
In turn, it came as something of a surprise when, on the day of the fixture, Vallejo informed Carlo Ancelotti that he was not in a fit state to play.
This came owing to an unspecified fitness problem, which the medical staff in Madrid were neither able to confirm nor deny.
And such news did not go down at all well with Real’s headmaster.
As per a report from Relevo:
‘The news took the Real Madrid manager by surprise. And according to reports from the club’s office, he was upset.’
The expectation is now that Vallejo is unlikely to take to the pitch even once over the remainder of the campaign, ahead of the expiration of his Blancos contract in the summer.
