Why Leicester-loyal Jamie Vardy won't sign for Wrexham

38-year-old Jamie Vardy's Leicester City contract is fast expiring. The veteran striker has previously said he wouldn't want to face the Foxes if he eventually left Leicestershire. Nevertheless, at his age and considering the King Power outfit's plight, nothing is out of the question. Could the most famous Fox of all exit LCFC this summer? And would the Leicester-loyal Vardy in fact sign for Wrexham?

Wrexham would appeal to some

Hollywood beckons the Vardys. Well, I'm sure that's what Jamie's wife Rebekah probably believes. She was seemingly a very fame and publicity-hungry person. That was before she was exposed in the rather infantile 'Wagatha Christie' episode with former England international Wayne Rooney's wife, Coleen.

Mrs Vardy appears to keep a lower profile these days, thankfully for any of us associated with LCFC. Yet I don't think even she could convince her husband to vie with Leicester.

However, on this occasion we are not talking court cases or so-called 'WAGs'. This Los Angeles-linked story doesn't even concern Vardy's long-lost supposed movie that's been in the works for almost nine years by my count. We are focused on one transfer rumour.

This is indeed speculation that would rock the football world. Or, at the very least, part of the east Midlands and the Championship. Vardy to Wrexham?

Why Leicester City-loyal Jamie Vardy will most likely reject the advances of Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney

Wrexham are doing well. It is possibly annoying to some supporters to see a club initially come from relatively nowhere and subsequently receive unfair media coverage. Having money invested from actors and screenwriters is an interesting proposition. But fair play to them!

The Red Dragons have actually achieved by being pragmatic and sensible. They deserve their footballing fame. Successive promotions have seen people acknowledge and congratulate the Welsh team.

Although I think Reynolds and McElhenney will fail to lure Vardy to compete against City next season. Both sides will potentially be in the Championship for 2025/26. Nonetheless, more significant outlets are now discussing the possibility:

"Wrexham and Leicester could be playing in the same division next season, with the Red Dragons hoping to secure automatic promotion from League One and the Foxes appearing nailed on to be relegated from the Premier League. With the Championship in their sights, claims are mounting that the Welsh side's co-owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, could be prepared to splash the cash to secure Vardy's signature"Mirror
