After having once again shown his class and composure in the crunch game against Bayern Munich, the FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal will now be looking to once again showcase his talents in another blockbuster clash against Real Madrid this Saturday.

The winger has grown immensely since last year and is already one of the more important players in this Blaugrana squad. As a result, he frequently appears in front of the media, and as SPORT has reported, he did so once again ahead of El Clasico as he appeared in an interview with La Liga World.

The youngster will be facing the current champions of Spain, and a very astute defensive fullback in Ferland Mendy in this game, but he was not really afraid going into this game: “This year, when I receive the ball, I feel the crowd start to cheer, and it really motivates me.”

“I usually focus on the full-back and go all in against him. It’s a feeling I’ve never had before… It’s like my mother is right there in front of me, telling me to go for the opponent. It’s a feeling I can’t describe, but it’s incredible.”

The 17-year-old La Masia graduate, recently labeled as an ‘impressive’ player by Vincent Kompany, also expressed his wish to become a legend at Barcelona: “I would like to be remembered in Barça’s history as a legend. Thanks to Barcelona, I am who I am. It has given me everything.”

Yamal also expressed the desire to stay at Barça his whole life, but also admitted that his life ultimately depends on football.

Hopefully, the young star will continue to grow and perform as he is already doing at the highest level, and join some of the most illustrious names in the Blaugrana club’s history. But for now, he will be looking to take on Ferland Mendy and Real Madrid in the upcoming match on Saturday.
