The goalkeeping position is in a state of significant flux at FC Barcelona. The starting goalkeeper of the first team, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, recently suffered a long-term injury which is expected to keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

As a result, Inaki Pena has been starting the last few matches for the Blaugranes. Meanwhile, the Catalan club has also brought in another more experienced goalie to their squad, Wojciech Szczesny, who has returned from his retirement to play for Barcelona.

However, the Pole would still need some time before he gets into the shape to play for Barcelona as he has not played competitively for some months.

In such a scenario, another promising quarry goalkeeper who could have had some opportunities to step on the pitch could have been Diego Kochen. Unfortunately, Kochen is sidelined with a hamstring injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for the next four weeks.

Furthermore, the report reveals that he is not recovering with the reserve team, but with the first team, and it is Hansi Flick’s technical and medical staff that is taking care of him.

While this injury has come at an unfortunate time for Kochen, there is no doubt that he still remains one of the great promises for Barcelona in the goalkeeping position.

Since arriving at the Catalan club in 2019, he has stood out for his reflexes and agility. He was also called up by the USA national team earlier in this season, but did not get any minutes on the pitch.
